I have been crafting up a storm lately, making lots of Valentine projects. There’s just something about creating that puts me in my happy place. Now that I have a Maker, it’s even more fun, since the tedious cutting I dislike is done for me. Today I’m going to share the files to make both a fun scallop banner and a set of envelopes you can use for either a mini quilt, or hoops.
Love Note Envelopes
The first Valentine project I’m sharing is these cute Love Note envelopes. They are so much fun to customize. There are four different flaps and fronts and five backs you can use to mix and match and create a whole bunch of different looks. Find the .svg file on my Google Drive by clicking here. To cut the felt and fabric envelope pieces and the fabric for the bunting, I used the rotary blade, I used the fine point blade for the foil hearts. The felt hearts I cut out by hand.
First, I fused Heat n Bond to the fabric for the envelope lining before I cut it out with the Maker. Then I fused it to the felt before adding the hand embroidery detail using floss. I stitched the envelopes to both the mini quilt and the hoop fabric using my sewing machine
Scalloped Bunting
The second of the Valentine projects I’m sharing is this darling and quick heart scalloped bunting. To make the scallop bunting, take two scallop pieces and place them right sides together.
Sew around using a 1/4″ seam allowance, then trim the fabric using either pinking shears or sharp fabric scissors to clip the curves so they will lay flat.
Turn the scallop right side out.
Press the scallops
Fuse the foil hearts to the scallops.
I put the scallops together into a bunting using double fold bias tape. You could also sew the scallops to a ribbon if you like.
