We (heart) our teachers!

When I went to college, I was going to be a teacher. I signed up for the first education class and was all ready to go. The class was very involved. It required a lot of time and energy, and it was only worth one credit hour. Someone said it was so we could get used to being teachers, a lot of effort and not a lot of pay! I got about half-way through the semester and decided it was not for me! I withdrew from the class.

That experience taught me that it takes a special kind of person to dedicate themselves to our children for such minimal financial return. They teach because they love it, and they love the children. I respect them greatly, all the more because I know I am not one of those people! So in honor of Teacher Appreciation week I made these.

These are the gifts for the kids’ teachers this year. I decorated the clipboards with paper and ribbon and then added some bags of school supplies/treats and added a card. They turned out really cute.
These are the fronts of the cards I made. I was trying to try some different flower techniques I had found online so they are a little busy (at least the purple one is) but I like how they turned out.

You are SO creative! I loved that idea. Uh…Brylee's teacher got a box of Carrot cake (apparently her favorite per Brylee:) and some frosting. Lame-o. So…good job!!!
