DIY Winter Decor Sign

I was provided a Cricut Maker to use, but all projects and opinions are mine.

I now live in a place where it is winter weather for almost half of the year. Instead of fighting the weather, I have decided to embrace the snow and cold and welcome it through my home decor. This simple DIY Winter Decor sign is fun to make and with its clean lines, is sure to fit into any home decor scheme.

You will need to start with a frame. I found mine on clearance a few months ago, but you can find them at Hobby Lobby or other craft stores. Paint the background of your frame black and your outer frame a soft winter white.

Next, you will need to cut the words and snowflakes out of vinyl. You can find the cut file I used here. You will need Cricut Access or to purchase the images.

Weed the extra vinyl away from your phrase and snowflakes. Use transfer tape to lift the vinyl off the backing and place on your frame. Be sure to firmly rub the vinyl onto your frame so it adheres well. Finally, remove the transfer tape from your vinyl.

That’s it!! So super quick and fun to make. The hardest part of this project is waiting for the paint to dry!

I am loving how my display in my entry way is coming together! You can find the tutorial for the snowflake mitten hoop on the ThermOWeb blog here, and the Snow Globe pillow will also be found on the ThermOWeb blog as well. The black and white tree blanket, as well as the nordic winter hurricane were found at JoAnn.

Do you jump right from Christmas to Valentine’s Day, or do you pause for a while in January? I’m loving the simple look and palette of this Winter Decor, so I think it will last a while!

If you are looking for more projects to create your own cozy winter space, you might love this Wavy Ruffle Pillow, or the Stay Cozy pillow I created for this holiday room makeover. Here is the link to the tutorial for creating a banded pillow just like the Stay Cozy pillow.
