Day 2. There are so many projects and ideas floating around in my head. I want to try so many techniques and products. I also want to try making the things I already make, in a different way. This next project is no exception.
The Polka Dot Happy Birthday Banner:
I love my birthday banners. They are so bright and fun. But while I have always used tone on tone fabrics, I wanted to try something different. I wanted all the fabrics to have polka dots! The idea had been rattling around in my head for a while, so I thought, this week, and my birthday was the best time to try it out. What do you think? I LOVE it!! The fabrics are all quilter cottons made by manufacturers such as Henry Glass and Riley Blake. I even managed to find a yellow polka dot.
The flags are finished front and back and have interfacing to give them body. The letters are fused on with Heat ‘n bond. The colors are all primary colors. {even though some look pink in the pictures}
One day I am going to stage the banner in a photo shoot like this one:
Aren’t the Whipper Chicks awesome? You can see more details of
this table here.
I’m in the process of gathering supplies and ideas, and I hope to have it pulled together soon. Don’t you think I should give myself an amazing table for my birthday? I thought so too. 🙂
And when I finally grow up and get a big girl camera, I’m going to make a camera strap just like
Gwen‘s. If you’re already a big girl, go over and see how she did it. 🙂
I’m really liking this party all week and giving myself presents thing. I think everyone should try it!! And don’t you worry, there is something in this week for you, so stick around!
