"theme"-day thursday fabric flowers totes

In the Bag, themeday Thursday

If I had known I would not have a chance to blog again until today, I would have thought twice about putting up my disaster photos on Monday. 🙂  Oh well, now you know my deep, dark secret.  I am not a great housekeeper.  Oh wait, you probably already figured that out long ago.  haha.  Anyway, with the birthday bash and the craziness that May turned into, this is only the second theme-day Thursday I’ve done for the month.  But…

Embellished? Bags

I have a question for you. I have been making these tote bags for 2-3 years now. They sell well, mostly because I haven’t been charging enough for them ;). But I’m happy with them, they hold a ton of stuff and they hold up to years of beatings! However, I am wondering if they might just need a little something? I mean- I’m a simple girl. I like clean lines and don’t usually go for a lot of clutter…

Embellished Canvas Tote Bags

Here’s a great Christmas gift idea. Embellished canvas tote bags. And you don’t even have to make the tote bags- all you have to do is embellish! 🙂 First, you will need a canvas tote bag. I get mine at Walmart, they are cheaper there than anywhere else, even with a coupon. I think they are like $7 for all three. Get some scrap fabric and an image. You will also need some heat n’ bond lite. Draw your image…

New Bags

So, I don’t have any new holiday ideas, or brilliant new crafts to share. Sometimes you have to get back to what pays the bills. Or at least what buys new craft supplies. So, these are the latest totes I have made. Thanks to Suzanne I have started using fusible fleece in my tote bags. I love the extra body it gives to them. These bags hold up to the worst abuse (I’ve had one for two years now- and…

Great Big Bag

This is the latest tote bag I have made. I was given the fabric by a neighbor and she asked me to make one for her. I thought I remembered the dimensions of my large tote, but I was wrong. The bag turned out GINORMOUS! The final dimensions ended up being around 16 inches tall, 17 inches wide and 6 inches deep. It is perfect for going to the pool (with all my kiddos- towels, sunscreen, etc) or what I…

New Tote

My neighbor asked me to make a tote for her daughter to give as a gift. She brought me the fabric she wanted me to use- I LOVE IT! I think I might have to go buy some for myself. I love having the black on the bottom to keep the white background from showing too much dirt. And I love the hot pink inside!…

Treats and goodies

This is my “Happy Birthday” banner. It is machine stitched, interfaced and backed. The letters are fused on, and the ribbons are run through eyelets set through the pennants. The banner is gender neutral and high quality and will last through every child’s (and/or grandchild’s) birthday for years to come. The words come separate to accommodate a smaller space, but can be tied together for one long banner. The finished pennants are approx. 10″ high and 7″ across. The end…

Trying something new.

I found the pattern for this bag on another blog here. I have wanted to switch up my bags and add some more options so I thought I’d give it a try. I actually really like it, but it is much more complicated than my other bags. I think part of my problem is that I stayed up until 12:30 am making it (a night owl I am NOT!) The other part of the problem is my fabric choices. I…

Latest stuff

First, I want to say thanks to everyone who supported me last week with the “sale”. It was nice to get a couple of totes sold and feel like I have some momentum pushing me forward into the upcoming season. I wanted to share some of my newest “makes”. The first is a tote bag for my Aunt. She is a cowgirl down to her toes and wanted me to make her a bag that reflected that. Well, home dec…
