Joyful Snowflake table runner with Free Pattern

The fabric for this snowflake table runner post was provided by Riley Blake Designs, the pattern and opinions are all my own. Today is my turn on the Comfort and Joy blog tour for Riley Blake Designs. This fabric is seriously cute! I decided to take a motif from one of the mittens in the line and created a free pattern for a snowflake table runner that I just can’t wait to use next holiday season. And, it’s already ready,…

Antique Ribbon Table Runner Pattern Review

I have had a few “pinch-me” moments since I’ve started blogging, and one came recently when I was invited to review a pattern for The Fat Quarter Shop.  I was given a credit to the shop and a copy of the pattern in exchange for my review, the opinions however are my own.  The pattern is called Antique Ribbon Table Runner.  It’s a really fun pattern and it’s made really simply by using a paper foundation. I decided to make…

Ribbon and Burlap Table Runner

I know everyone is probably already decorated for Halloween, so you have time to pull this simple but festive runner together for your Thanksgiving celebrations, or just to tide you over on decorations until you’re ready to get Christmas going in your house. 🙂  And, if you’re like me and still don’t have Halloween decorations out, well, you can pretend this one is a Halloween decoration.  I’m still trying to convince the kids. Simple Ribbon and Burlap Banner To get…

Into the Ground

So, I told you I was going to run this pleated embellishment into the ground, and I aim to be a lady of my word! The last installment of ideas that I had on ways to use the tutorial I presented on Ucreate. The first was this lovely pillow. Originally I was going to use this chocolate fabric to make a table topper for my mom, but the fabric wasn’t cooperating and would have been too expensive to create. So, it…

Welcome August

I am so looking forward to the slower softer days of autumn, but I am determined to relish the last few weeks of summer! August always makes me think of sunflowers and sunshine- so of course the color yellow takes center stage. The fabric for this table topper came from a neighbor’s curtains that she didn’t want anymore. Is there a nicer word than FREE? I love how it turned out. For the outer border, I quilted with a loopy design,…

Treats and goodies

This is my “Happy Birthday” banner. It is machine stitched, interfaced and backed. The letters are fused on, and the ribbons are run through eyelets set through the pennants. The banner is gender neutral and high quality and will last through every child’s (and/or grandchild’s) birthday for years to come. The words come separate to accommodate a smaller space, but can be tied together for one long banner. The finished pennants are approx. 10″ high and 7″ across. The end…

Rainbow Sherbet

This table runner is full of summery goodness. The colors are bright and cheery. The runner measures approx. 16 X 32 inches. I quilted it in lines and when it’s washed, which it will be soon, the rows will crinkle up nicely and it will look delicious on a table or bench. The back side is a fun melon color with dots on it. When I was sewing on the binding, I realized that it looked like a watermelon. What…

Amy’s Crafty “Lemonade Stand”

Summertime brings with it lots of fun and excitement. From carnivals, parades, swimming pools and parks to movies, games and outings with family. Something else summer brings is kids out on the corner selling everything from “Kool-aid” to “Otter pops” trying to make some extra money. Well, I’m not selling lemonade, but I do have some things I would like to sell. So, instead of finding a boutique and trying to get rid of things all in one day, I…

Black/White and Red Part 2

This is the second table topper in the Black/White/Red series. It has cleaner lines on the outside, but it has much more interest inside the borders with smaller squares. I quilted it along the lines, about 1/4 inch in from the seams. It gives it a really fresh/modern look. This one actually went to my Second cousin for her bridal shower. She was so excited that it matched her kitchen. Thank goodness for bridal registrys and reading between the lines.…
