Sew a Stunning Mini Quilt with a Fabric Panel

The fabric for this post was provided by Riley Blake Designs as part of the blog tour for Oh Happy Day fabric. The project and opinions are my own.

Panels are one of my favorite things to sew with. They add a lot of impact without a lot of time. One of my favorite things to do is to cut apart the panel and make a smaller project with a piece of it. This time I turned part of the fabric panel into a mini quilt!

This fox pillow, these Patriotic pillows and the table topper shown in this post all feature fabric panels.

Oh Happy Day Panel Mini Quilt

Originally I was just going to make a simple pillow using this portion of the panel and some half square triangles. Adding the border made the panel just the right size for four 3″ finished HSTs. I love the yellow and black together and it made a very striking block. But, I just couldn’t resist adding all of vibrant colors found in this line. They are so happy and bright and speak to my rainbow loving heart. I decided a scrappy border would be just the thing to let all these fabulous colors play.
