Hi! I’m Amy!!

Amy of Ameroonie Designs. A mom, sewist and maker of things

About Me:

I am the mom to six kids- which is a big reason that I create and sew. I find that I am happiest when I am making things, and taking time to be happy makes me a better mom.

I hope you will find lots of inspiration, encouragement and fun inside these pages. I would love for you to tag me or send me pictures of your projects made from my tutorials on social media!

Happy Sewing and Happy Stitching!

xoxo, Amy

  • This kid. I am just so proud of him. In a year that turned everything in his life upside down, leaving friends, moving to a new state, he never quit and kept putting himself out there. He worked so hard and today he was chosen as an All-State lineman. He is just the best and I am so grateful for coaches and a team that rallied around the new kid and made this a season to remember! Love you @lucaschappell2110
  • Today on the blog you will find the tutorial for this sweet mini Welcome wall banner! It’s such a fun quick DIY! These would make great neighbor or friend gifts too! Swipe through to see a Christmas version and one finished in an embroidery hoop! Happy weekend everyone! #flowermarketfabric #iloverileyblake #fabricismyfun
  • Over on @diaryofaquilter blog I am sharing how to modify her wonky tree block into a snow capped mountain block! I love this block and can’t wait to make a whole quilt of trees, mountains and stars! You can find the tutorial on her blog.
  • I had so much fun with my turn on the Fresh Fat-Quarter Quilts blog tour! I love all of the quilts @abrightcorner designed, but I couldn’t stop thinking about making this one in Christmas colors! The pattern is called Penelope and it is so fun to sew! I turned mine into a mini quilt because of time and fabric limitations, but I will likely be making a full size one soon!
Swipe to see what a gorgeous stained glass effect this top creates!😍 I can’t wait to quilt it up!
Thank you Andi for inviting me to participate! This book is amazing! @martingaletpp #madewithmartingale #abrightcorner #freshfatquarterquilts
  • I just love these jelly roll stockings! I need to pull out my Christmas decorations so I can figure out how many more I need to make! 😂 do you have matching stockings for everyone or are they all different? Free tutorial and video on my blog, just search jelly roll stocking.
  • Are you sewing gifts for Christmas yet? Every year I tell myself I will start in January and every year it’s mid-November and I’m scrambling! What’s on your list to make/ buy this year? Are you already done shopping?? The tutorial for these hot pads/ pot holders can be found on my blog.
  • I had so much fun playing with the new @officialcricut Perforating blade for my Maker #ad. I used it to create these personalized Christmas Countdowns and I just love them!! I have been doing countdowns since my oldest was little, and I just love them. Lately though I have been finding I either have to do everything times 6 or deal with all the arguing over who’s turn it is. Now, everyone can have their own and no more fights! Hark, are those herald angels singing? 😂👼🏻Do you have a Maker or is there one on your list this year? I’d love to answer any questions you might have!
  • I have have been wanting to make another one of these The Best Gift mini quilts in some new Christmas fabric I have. This pattern is a pretty quick sew with some very simple foundation paper piecing. Do you like FPP? Or does it intimidate you? Any interest in a live tutorial? Pattern can be found in my Etsy shop Etsy.com/shop/amerooniedesigns
